Meditech

  • Provides access to all lab data, radiology reports, dictated consults, discharge summaries
  • Obtain username and password from Information Technology Dept 1D7 (red section)

Sovera

  • A new software system containing the entire hospital chart from previous admissions in PDF format
  • Accessible via separate username and password, also available from IT Dept 1D7 (red area)

PACS

  • Electronic access to diagnostic imaging on any computer in the hospital, including a few specially designed viewing sites (PICU, NICU, ER, etc.)
  • Accessible, one image at a time, through Meditech OR separate password required for full access

RTAS

  • Phone system, for retrieval of dictations not yet typed on Meditech
  • Internal access ext.75077
  • To access from outside (905) 521-5077
  • Security code 4123#
  • Patients ID # (9 digits)

Commands

  • 1 – stop report
  • 2 – resume play
  • 3 – rewind
  • 4 – slow down speed
  • 5 – disconnect from system
  • 6 – speed up
  • 8 – next report
  • 0 – go to start of report

  • For each report:
    • your name, patient name (spelling if difficult)
    • chart number, work type, copies to (FD, pediatrician, consultants, MRP, etc.)

Paging

  • Paging office is located on 1st floor, red section, 1C7
  • You must notify the paging office, in writing, of any changes to the call schedule!
  • To page someone from within the hospital:
    1. dial 87
    2. enter person’s pager number (4 digits)
    3. enter call-back extension (5 digits)
    4. enter priority code (* then 1 for CODE/STAT, 2 for ROUTINE, 3 for ANYTIME, 4 denotes)
    5. press #

Physician Paging

  • If you don’t know their pager #, wish to leave a typed message or to wait on an outside line: call ext. 76443

Parking

  • monthly passes available for all Hamilton Health Sciences Sites through parking office (parking garage at MUMC, red section)

Lockers

  • You will have a shared locker assigned to you by Laura Klyne in your first month of residency. These are located in the call room area (MUMC 3rd floor, between yellow and red sections).

Keys

 

Mailboxes

  • You will each have a mail slot assigned in the pediatric resident room. Please check these at least weekly for notices of upcoming events, any overdue evaluations to be signed, etc.

Photocopy PIN

  • You will each be assigned a PIN for accessing the photocopiers within MUMC.
  • These will be valid for up to 500 copies per year, and then you will be charged 10 cents/page.
